Position: NEW! HOT! Manufacturing Engineer
Major established and well respected company has a need at a larger plant in eastern GA for a Manufacturing Engineer to work in their facility and be involved with the precision machining process in this high volume environment. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing engineering-related tasks that are broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity. This includes troubleshooting and interpreting data and developing new test methods or procedures for a variety of situations. Also responsible for monitoring product design and manufacturing processes for the purpose of reducing and controlling costs.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of engineering assignments to develop and implement production processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in a cost efficient manner
2. Provide liaison support between the engineering department and manufacturing to assure that the manufacture or purchase of products meets functional requirements at the lowest possible cost
3. Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related manners
4. Monitor assigned operations to assure compliance with current project schedules and approved quality standards
5. Design and/or make recommendations regarding the purchase or building of new equipment or modernization of existing manufacturing production/processing equipment
6. Determine method(s) of manufacture during design of new products; recommend design modifications or process changes, where justifiable by cost/design studies, to permit manufacture by the most favorable method (DFM)
7. Work with customers and/or suppliers to determine application requirements
8. Evaluate current technologies for cost reduction and production improvement
9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required Job Skills Requirements: Broad knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures (analysis of variance, designed experiment, new system design, etc.) and other internal engineering standards and systems
•Ability to plan and coordinate activities and small projects
•Knowledge of CAD/CAE, Pro-E and other related engineering software
•Good interpersonal skills to interact with and motivate a diverse group of people
•Good written and verbal communication skills for giving presentations and creating technical documents
•Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge related to area of responsibility -Experience involving the precision machining process Education &
***Experience Requirements***
-B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Experience
-Minimum of three years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment required; five years of experience preferred
